Endo Flashcards
Mild Pain after stimulus removed, short duration. Cold +ve EPT +ve
Normal pulp
Sensitive to cold, pain disappear on stimuli removal. EPT +ve
Dentinal Hypersensitivity
Short sharp pain, disappear on removal. Cold + EPT +
Reversible pulpitis
Pain on biting, cold sensitivity. Cold + EPT +
Cracked Cusp
Lingering pain. Cold +, EPT + or delayed, Heat ++
Irreversible pulpitis
Mix symptoms, +/- all tests
Partial pulp necrosis
Dull ache. Cold -, EPT -, Heat +/-, +/- P/P
Pulp Necrosis
Intense throbbing pain, pain on biting
Cold + Linger/-, EPT delay/-, ++ Percussion, +/- Palp
Acute/Symptomatic apical periodontitis
No symptoms, apical R/L
Chronic/asymptomatic apical peridontitis
Severe intense throbbing, pain on biting, +/- mobility
+ P/P Radiolucency into alveolar bone
Pus can give false + EPT
Acute/Symptomatic apical abscess
No symptoms, draining sinus/Sinus tract, PA R/L
Chronic/asymptomatic apical abscess
hypersensitive to cold and sweets over past few months, symptoms now subsided. no response to thermal, tender on biting and pain to percuss. Radiopacities around root apices.
Pulpal Necrosis, Symptomatic apical periodontitis with condensing osteitis
Following crown, sensitivity to cold and hot, and now spontaneous. Pain on cold, lingering for 12s. P/P normal, no evidence Radiographically.
Symptomatic irreversible pulpitis, normal apical tissue
Large apical radiolucency with furcation involvement. No response to thermal testing, P/P normal. Recurrent caries distal of the crown. Draining Sinus on gingiva.
Pulp necrosis, Chronic/asymptomatic apical abscess
Endo treated tooth, pain to biting over last 3 months. Apical radiolucencies. Tender to both percuss and Toothslooth.
Previously treated, symptomatic apical periodontitis
