A

Viral - most common HSV type -1
Other - HSV-2, enterovirus, cytomegalovirus, EBV, VZV
Bacterial - bacterial pathogens like meningitis, Lyme disease, mycoplasma
Parasitic - malaria or toxoplasmosis
