Call RFS
Call ACC/RCC declare DETRESFA
Continue operations
Full Emergency:
def/qualifying
a/c is know or suspected to be in such trouble that there is danger of an accident.
Mayday/ PAN
Engine failure 50%
Any hydraulic failure
Continue operations but sterilize rwy
Sterilize Runway:
For/by
For Mayday/PAN/Full
- DRO before 10Nm
(no deps from 4Nm)
- SRO before 20Nm
OFZ by 15Nm
Local Standby
A/c is known or suspected to have developed some defect but which would not normally involve any serious difficulty in effecting a safe landing.
(continue normal ops but give priority)
AGI
Aircraft on ground is known to have an emergency other than accident, requiring AFS.
Pass a/c rego to AFS
Medical Emergency
Pilots must declare an emergency to receive priority.
Inform Airport Ops Control Centre
Bomb Threat
If ordered taxi/tow to
- Zone A - Twy M between MA & MB
- Zone B - Twy M between M15 & M16
Unlawful Act
Pass to AFS
Don’t use “Hijack” use “Security Threat”
“Confirm squawking assigned code”
Pilots may use “… channel 7500”

- Local standby/Full emergency

3 click = say again
4 click = request homing
INCERFA
uncertainty exists as to the safety of an a/c and it’s occupants.
ALERFA
apprehension exists as to the safety of an a/c and it’s occupants
ALERFA is declared when:
- After INCERFA still nothing
- 5 mins of being cleared to land and fails to
- Unlawful Interference
- Experiencing op difficulties but forced landing not likely
