Turkish, Egyptish and Arab. It emerged in military schools which had european education. It was an elite minority while the masses kept their religious leaders.

A new class,” the learned “”, i.e.learned in this new european school.

So the masses where not into this new movement.

Russo Japanese war…When was it. What ideas was behind it? How did they link this to systems of ruling in Turkey?

1905 A European (superior) power defeated by the Japanese! Breaking that superiority, or questioning it at least…

Japanese had gone constitution while Russia had gone for tsar… i.e. Constituiton is powerful along these lines did they think in TUrkey.
