- Well, it devastated the Tang Dynasty that was allready altered by the An Lushan Rebellion. Last blow of destroying old order for the beginning of a new one, I would argue.

Five Dynasties and ten kingdoms, what does it mean
A
That the north tried to control the south. Five short lived polities and dynasties that failed to centralize government and control the south until Song suceeded. This meant that there flourished ten smaller kingdom in the south. First time in history!

Who founded Song Dynasty, and where did the power go to afterwards?
A
Military commander Zhao Kuangyin. Power transgressed to a civil elite, Scholars or Sidafu. They tried to create a new order. With Civil Exams.
