Embrryonic Folding Flashcards
What does lateral folding form?
Tube within a tube formation
What happens to the lateral borders within lateral folding?
They move ventrally and meet in the middle
When is the neural tube formed?
During lateral folding
What does the visceral mesoderm form during lateral folding?
Coelom
What fully surrounds embryo after lateral folding?
The amniotic cavity
What cell layer meets in the middle during lateral folding?
Ectoderm
What will the angiotensin cell cluster form?
The cardiovascular system
What is the purpose of longitudinal folding?
To ensure all systems develop in the right place. Originally cardiovascular system begins to develop above developing cranial area.
What happens to the angiogenic cell cluster during longitudinal folding?
It begins to fold ventrally then when the heart tube forms it is pushed caudally
What begins to form the head?
Rapid growth of the developing brain
When is the Allantois formed?
During longitudinal folding
What is the allantois?
A fetal membrane below the chorion. Part umbilical cord development
When do lung and liver buds form?
During longitudinal folding
