Embroylogy- Development Of Midline Structures Flashcards
What are the two emborylogical tissues that form the pitaurity gland?
Ectoderm and neuroectoderm
What is the infundibukum?
A downward growth of the forebrain towards the pharynx
What is rathkes pouch?
An outpocketing of the ectoderm of the somatodeum, from the roof od the orapharyx that grows dorsally towards the developing forebrain
What are the origins of the different parts of the pitaruity gland?
Anterior pituarity arises from rathkes puch whereas the posterior pitaurity and the pituarity stalk arises from the infundibulum
From where do the lateral lingual swellings develo?
The 1st pharyngeal arch
What are the three median lingual swellings?
Pharyngeal arch 1 is formed from the tuberculum impar
Ppharyngeal arch 2 adn 3 is fomed from the copula
Pharyngeal arch 4 is formed from the epiglottal swelling
What is the fate of the tuberculum impar?
Is overgrown by the lateral lingual swellings
What happens to the 2nd arch component of the tongue?
Is overgrown by the third arch component
From where is the mucosa of the anterior 2/3 of the tongue dervivied?
Pharyngeal arches 1 and 2 therefore has sensory innervation from CNV
From where is the mucosa of the posterior arch dervived/
From pharyngeal arch 3
Where do the taste buds develop?
The papillae
Where does the primodium of the thryoid gland develop?
The floor of the pharync between the tuberculum impar and the cupoal
What later marks the point of origin for the descent of the throyid gland?
The foramen ceccum
What is the throglossal duct?
Conects the thryoid galnd to the tongue
What porduces the follciular cells?
The throyid diveticulum
