A network of small blood vessels that supply the walls of large blood vessels, such as elastic arteries (e.g., the aorta) and large veins (e.g., the venae cavae).
Vasa Vasorum
Line drawn or visualized on the surface of the skin to represent the approximate location of some deeper lying structure.
Linear Guide
Descriptive reference for locating arteries and veins by means of the anatomical structures that are known.
Anatomical Guide
Point of origin and point of termination in relation to adjacent structures. Used to designate the boundaries of arteries.
Anatomical Limit
An anatomical space in the anterior upper thigh that contains several palpable structures.
Femoral Triangle
A narrow conical tunnel located in the thigh. It is approximately 15cm long, extending from the apex of the femoral triangle to the adductor hiatus of the adductor magnus.
