Chemicals that inactivate saprophytic bacteria, render unsuitable for nutrition the media upon which such bacteria thrive, and will arrest decomposition by altering enzymes and lysins of the body as well as converting the decomposable tissue to form a less susceptible to decomposition.
Preservative Embalming Chemicals
Chemicals used in addition to vascular and cavity embalming fluids such as hardening compounds, preservative powders, sealing agents, etc
Accessory Chemicals
A fluid that the embalmer prior to the preservative solution or adds to the preservative solution to enhance certain qualities of the preservation fluid.
Supplemental Fluids
Agents that provide a barrier or seal against any leakage of fluid or blood.
Sealing Agents
Surgical material used for its high absorbancy of fluid.
Cotton
Thin, domelike shell made of hardened cloth, metal, or plastic placed beneath the eyelids to restore natural curvature and to maintain the position of the closed eye.
Eye Caps
Plastic, threaded screw like device for sealing punctures and small round trocar openings.
Trocar Button
Device used in the mouth to shape the contour of the lips.
Mouth Former
Garments used on the deceased to cover their skin.

Thread, cord or wire used for tying vessels, tissues, or bones.

Device used to fasten the calvarium to the cranium after a cranial autopsy.
