He is famous for being one of the greatest element discoverers in history. He used a method involving electricity to discover seven new elements (sodium, magnesium, boron, potassium, calcium, barium, and chlorine).

What is Marie Curie famous for contributing to the field of chemistry?

A

Marie Curie is famous for her many achievements in chemistry. In 1903, she became the first woman awarded with a Nobel Prize. Time passed and in 1911, she was the first person ever to win the Nobel Prize twice. Another thing she’s famous for is advancing the use of x-rays. During WW2, she trained people to find bullets in soldiers using x-rays. She also invented the term radioactivity, while researching the substance uranium. Lastly, she discovered two new elements, polonium and radium.
