Q

How do you make a compound?

A

.Weigh out know amounts of iron fillings and sulfur
.grind the mixture of iron fillings and sulfur very well
. The iron and sulfur are easily separated from the mixture using a magnet.
.heating the mixture causes a chemical reaction to occur. A compound called iron sulfide is fromed. Fe+s=Fes
.the iron and sulfur cannot be separated from the iron sulfide using a magnet.

Results: fe+S=FeS

Conclusion: when I heat a mixture of iron and sulfur a compound is made.
