Electrical System Flashcards
The three major components of the electrical system are
Normal Power system (main generator)
Normal Emergency Power (standby gen, EPU gen, A/C battery)
FLCS Power (lots of stuff)
number and types of generators and batteries
60KVA main generator (on ADG, driven by CSD)
10KVA standby generator (driven by ADG, provides dc power, FLCS PMG is connected)
5KVA EPU generator (emergency use)
26volt 14 amp/hour battery (battery buses, 1 source of power to start EPU, temporary emergency FLCS power)
two ac to dc converters (primary source of dc power)
Do not apply external electrical power for more than ___ minutes without cooling air
30 minutes
there are ___ overcurrent protection panels - function?
8 - protects bus groups and stores stations - 2 can be resert by the ELEC CAUTION RESET button
What buses are lost when the stby generator is on
non essential AC Bus No.1 and No.2 and nonessential dc bus
what buses are lost when EPU generator is only source of power
essential and nonessential ac and dc buses
What does the Aircraft battery power?
battery bus No.1 and No.2
What is lost when EPU is manually activated with a good main and stby generator?
lose essential and nonessential dc bus and nacelle dc bus
during normal operations, the source for system dc power is the ______
emergency AC buses through converters
what is the primary FLCS power supply and where is it located?
FLCS PMG located on the ADG (accessory drive gearbox)
what are the __ sources of FLCS power?
7 sources: FLCS PMG main generator through emergency DC buses stby generator EPU generator EPU PMG aircraft battery FLCS batteries
Where does the power from the FLCS PMG go?
4 power outputsand generates enough electricity at 40% rpm or greater
goes to 2 converters/regulators to change from ac to dc, regulate voltage, provide fault indications and tests
then goes to 4 FLCS inverters, change dc to ac to the 4 FLCS branches
how long can the aircraft battery and FLCS batteries provide FLCS operations?
55 minutes
if power not available to one or more of the FLCS branches in flight, how long does light delay after initial nose LG WOW
60 seconds to avoid pilot distraction during critical phase of flight
ACFT BATT TO FLCS light
battery buses powering on ore more FLCS branches and voltage at branch is 25 volts or less (in flight)
