Electrical Flashcards
The aircraft has three electrical systems, they are what?
AC power system
DC power system
Standby power system
How many batteries power the DC power system?
One
How many TR (transformer rectifiers) are there?
The TRs change ___ power to ____ power
Three
AC to DC
The AC system has two main operating principles, they are what?
No paralleling of AC sources of power
Source of power connected to a transfer bus automatically disconnects an existing AC source
The IDG has two sections/components, what are they?
Engine driven generator
Constant speed drive
The IDGs can be disconnected if the oil gets to hot?
They disconnect automatically if the oil reaches a set temperature. They can be disconnected manually on the overhead panel, but the engine must be operating to disconnect
Can an IDG be reconnected in flight?
No. Only on the ground by MTX
What does the amber DRIVE light indicate?
IDG low oil pressure
IDG failure
Engine shutdown
IDG automatic disconnect
IDG disconnected with the disconnect switch
Under frequency condition
What does the amber SOURCE OFF light indicate?
No source has been manually selected
Or
The manually selected source has been disconnected
What is a BTB? And what does it do?
Bus tie breaker
They connect the AC TRANSFER BUS 1 and AC TRANSFER BUS 2. They close to allow one side of the electrical system to power the other
