What does a flashing 8 mean in the airspeed window?
Selected speed is greater than the over speed limit
What does a flashing A mean in the speed window?
Selected speed is less than the minimum speed
The speed control on the MCP automatically changes to Mach above what altitude?
26,000 ft
What does a lit up button on the MCP mean?
That the mode can be deselected.
It does NOT mean a specific mode is active.
After the APP light extinguished on an approach, how can the APP mode be disengaged?
Pushing TOGA
Disengaging the autopilot by turning off both FDs
Selecting a different frequency in one of the VHF Nav receivers
The autothrottle servos are de-energized in what two modes? Allowing the pilot to manually adjust thrust lever position
THR HOLD
ARM
What does a white A/T LIMIT above the engine N1 indicators mean?
The FMC is not providing limits to the autothrottle system
Or
The system is using a degraded N1 thirst limit from the EEC
The three columns on the FMA represent what? (In order L to R)
Auto throttle mode
Roll mode
Pitch mode
What does FD indicate on the AFDS?
That the flight director is turned on, but the autopilot is either off or in CWS mode
What does an amber CWS R or CWS P in amber below the FMA mean?
Control wheel steering is engaged in the roll or pitch mode respectively
MA (master) displays above which flight director?
Which ever is selected in first (with no autopilot engaged)
Which ever FCC is controlling the autopilot (autopilot on)
An amber FD displayed on the PFD means what?
There is a fault in the FD system. Command bars should also be missing
Flight control computer A/B is selected for use how?
Whichever autopilot master is turned on first
Minimum altitude for autopilot engagement?
1000 ft AGL
What happens if you press/disengage an active autopilot mode?
The aircraft reverts to CWS in that mode (pitch/roll), CWS P/R illuminates on the PFD, A/P disengage light flashes amber, that pitch or roll mode must be manually controlled
