Q

Electric field strength

A

is defined by E=F/Q
In a uniform field E=V/d
and generally, E=-∆V/∆r
Units of electric field strength are NC-1 or Vm-1. The area under an E against r graph is ∆V, the change in potential.

A

the potential difference between a point and a point at zero potential, which is infinitely far away.

Q

Potential difference

A

the work done, against an electric field, in moving a unit charge from one point to a second point at a higher potential. If a charge moves from a point of higher potential to a lower potential, work is done by the electric field.
The amount of electrical work done per unit charge flowing through a component.
