ekg Flashcards
0
Q
P wave (2)
A
- atrial depolarization
2. SA node -> AV node, from R atrium to L atrium
1
Q
what is EKG measuring?
A
indirect associatins btwn surface electrical activity and mechanics of what happening in the heart
2
Q
QRS complex (3)
A
- rapid depolarization of right and left ventricles
- because ventricles are so large, QRS has large amplitude
- Includes plateau
3
Q
PR segment
A
- AV delay
4
Q
T wave (3)
A
- repolarization (recovery) of ventricles
- beginning of QRS complex -> apex of T wave = absolute refractory period
- apex -> end of T wave = relative refractory period
5
Q
placement of precordial leads (6)
A
- V1= 4th IC space, R of sternum
- V2= 4th IC space, L of sternum
- V3= directly btwn V1 and V2
- V4= 5th IC space, L midclavicular line
- V5= level with V4, L ant-axillary line
- V6= level with V4, L mid-axillary line
6
Q
anatomical correlation btwn precordial lead placement and heart (and charge) (3)
A
- V2= above top (base) of heart (-)
- V4 = most (+)
- V5 = below tip of heart (+)
