What’s a habitat?
A place where an organism makes its home.
What is variation?
Any difference between the individuals in a species or groups of organisms of any species.
What’s continuous variation?
Characteristics like weight or height, which change gradually
What’s discontinuous variation?
Characteristics like eye colour or blood group, which have a limited number of possible values
What are the conditions in a habitat called?
It’s environment
What is adaptation?
Certain things about an environment in a habitat that animals have to get used to and things in a habitat that are specialised for the animals that live there
What’s an ecosystem?
A community of living organisms
What’s inherited variation?
The differences between life forms that are passed from parents to offspring
What Environmental variation?
The differences between individuals that are not inherited but caused by the environment that the organism lives in
What are the stages in a food chain?
1) Top predator (a predator that is not prey)
2) Carnivore (consumer and predator)
3) Herbivore (eat other organisms)
4) producer (makes its own food)
What are pesticides?
Poisons that kill pests
