ECG electrocardiogram Flashcards
normal HR
60-100bpm
higher than. 100 at rest= tachycardia
lower than 60 at rest= bradycardia
ECG abnormalities: heart block (1st and 3rd degree)
conduction through AV is slowed and length of pr segment rises
fewer qrs waves
1st degree= waves all present, but pr segment longer than normal
3rd degree=complete blockage of signal from atria to ventricles- 30ap/min (sooo slow)
ECG abnormalities: ventricular fibrillation
heart muscle no longer depolarizing synchronously, making coordinated pumping impossible
p-wave
atrial depolarization
-followed by atrial contraction
PR segment
av node delay
atria finish contracting and emptying
QRS wave
ventricular depolarization
atrial repolarization also occuring- but covered by the ventricular depolarization event
ST segment
all fibres in ventricle are contracted, emptying continues until halfway through T wave
T wave
ventrucular repolarization
TP segment
atria and vent relaxed (filling vent)
