How does EBV enter and infect the body?
A
Intimate contact with saliva
Infects epithelial cells of oropharynx
Infects B cells - latency, then they proliferate and activate T cells
Increased amount of IgG, IgM, IgA
High T / B cell count = enlarged liver, spleen, lymph nodes
