What makes up the Earth’s structure?
A
Inner core, outer core, mantle and crust.

What happens in the mantle?
A
The mantle can move very slowly. Radioactive decay takes place in the mantle, this causes heat which causes convection currents in the mantle.

A
Iron and nickel.

Why do tectonic plates move?
A
Because of convection current in the mantle.

What causes earthquakes?
A
Random movements of the tectonic plates. they occur mostly at the boundary between plates.

Why is it difficult to predict earthquakes and volcanic eruptions?
A
It’s impossible to predict when tectonic plates will move. Sometimes, rocks rise to the surface , but sometimes this is a false alarm because sometimes the rocks just cool.
