E-Mag And EMI Flashcards
Define magnetic flux
The magnetic flux through a plane surface is the product of the component of magnetic flux density normal to the surface and area of the surface.
Define magnetic flux density
Magnetic flux density given at a point in a magnetic field is defined as the force per unit length exerted on a long straight conductor carrying a unit current that is placed perpendicular to the magnetic field.
Define magnetic field
A magnetic field is a region of space in which a magnetic material, a current-carrying conductor or a moving charge located in it may experience a force.
State Faraday’s Law
It states that the magnitude of emf induced is directly proportional to rate of change of magnetic flux linkage.
State Lenz’s Law
It states that the e.m.f. is induced in the direction such as to oppose the change in the flux linkage that is inducing it.
