-gastric cancer
What is the functional cause?
-same definition but no proof of structural disease
(need OGD)
-associated with other functional gut disorders IBS
What is seen in complicated dyspepsia?
cachexia
mass
evidence gastric outflow obstruction
peritonism
What is the mode of management for dyspepsia?
-if no ALARM symptoms
-non-invasive test and treat strategy
=check h.pylori status and remove if infection
-if HP -ve then give acid inhibition as needed
What are the six factors involved in functional dysplasia?
visceral hypersensitivity altered brain interaction genetic factors psychosocial factors abnormal upper GI motor reflex functions disrupted gut immune interactions
