Dynamics Flashcards
What to do when finding net force with magnitude and direction?
Trig. Find c and angle of direction.
What is inertia?
The property of matter that resists change to its motion. The greater the mass, the greater the inertia.
What are the four fundamental forces? (In order of weak to strong)
Gravitational, Electromagnetic, Weak Nuclear, Strong Nuclear forces.
What happens to force experienced by two objects when you change the distance? (ie. 1/2, 2x)
When changing distance remember: it becomes 1/(x^2) as big.
What happens to force when masses are changed?
It would change normally. Ex. If both masses were doubled, it would be 4x as big, 2x2=4.
Gravitational Field Strength formula
g= GM / r^2
Function of strong nuclear force
Holds protons and neutrons together.
Function of weak nuclear force
Involved in radioactive decay.
Function of electromagnetic force
Holds positive and negative atoms and molecules together/apart
Function of gravitational force
Force of attraction between all objects with mass.
