what is bilateral aid?
international aid given from one country to another

aid/ development funded by NGOs (charity) with local communities

the total or partial cancellation of debts owed by an LIDC
what is GDP per capita?
measure of economic output which calculates the value of good and services created per capita (person) in a county, per year
what is GNI (per capita)?
the gross total income of a country (divided by population) per year
what is HDI?
human development index, measure of development based on wealth, health and education (life expectancy, education level, income per person)
what are MDGs?
millennium development goals, minimum acceptable standards agree by world leaders in 2000 to halve world poverty by 2015
what is multi-lateral aid?
international aid given through international organisations (UN, world bank, IMF)

method of farming that tries to copy nature to give food security

industry based on obtaining raw materials e.g. farming, fishing, mining

industry based on technology and research

industry based on manufacturing things

industry based on services

development planned and delivered by government of other big organisations e.g. world bank

an improvement in living standards by the use of resources
