Sleep terrors
Abrupt terror arousal from sleep
- intense fear and autonomic arousal
- panicky scream
- tachycardia, rapid breathing, sweating
- unresponsive to comfort efforts
Episode lasts 1-10 minutes
Amnesia after going back to sleep
Nightmare Disorder
Extended, dysphoric and well-remembered dreams
Later in the night than sleep terrors

Personality Disorder
Enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates from cultural expectations, is pervasive and inflexible, onset in adolescence and early adulthood, stable over time, leads to impairment or distress
