Drugs In The CVS Flashcards

1
Q

A
  • Anti platelet drug (with long term use)

Q

Prostacyclin

A
  • anti platelet drug
  • binds to prostacyclin receptors on platelets
  • this increases cAMP and blocks increase of calcium caused by the thromboxane receptor
  • blocks platelet aggregation

A
  • prevents blood clot formation.
  • enhances the activity of antithrombin III.
  • thrombin is removed from blood so fibrin meshwork isn’t formed.
