Wound Seal
- topical powder
- quickly forms scab to reduce risk of infection
- for cuts/lacerations
Ointments (80% oil/20% water, such as Aquaphor)
- used for skin protection over a minor burn to hold in moisture and reduce scarring risk
Silver sulfadiazine
(Silvadene, SSD
- used topically to reduce infection risk and promote healing
- do not use with sulfa allergy or G6PD deficiency (due to hemolysis risk)
Mupirocin**

- antibiotic cream or ointment

Polymixin/bacitracin/neomycin**
Neosporin original**
- triple antibiotic ointment

-for neomycin allergy, use Polysporin (bacitracin & polymyxin) or bacitracin alone
Bacitracin/neomycin/polymyxin B/hydrocortisone**
Cortisporin** ointment
- popular Rx topical used for superficial skin infections

- topical debriding drug for chronic wounds
