Sacubitril
NEP inhibitor, which delays degradation of ANP.
Used in tandem w/ Valsartan (which antagonizes AT1 receptors).
Furosemide
Inhibits Na+-K+-2Cl- cotransporter.
Used to manage edema.
Must be concerned with toxicity due to sulfonamide.
ARB suffix

Contraindicated in beta-blocker use.

Combo of isosorbide dinitrate (dilate vv.) and hydralazine (dilate aa.) given for chronic HF to be used by AA.
Only drug developed for one racial group.
Losartan MOA
Non-peptide angiotensin II receptor antagonist
Candesartan
ARB w/ irreversible binding
Valsartan
ARB that is NOT a pro-drug
Carvedilol should only be given if…
Pts. are clinically stable, but had a recent MI or reduction in EF
Creatinine over 3.5 means you should not give:
ACEI or ARB
Thiazides are not…
Potent enough to give on their own, must be used in combo w/ another med.
