A
The procedure to be followed in the “Safety at Work” section (ORG 140) includes:
- Employees and contractors are to present for work at all times in an unimpaired state.
- Impairment may arise from the effects of ingestion of substances, including medication. Advice should be sought from the Board medical service if in doubt.
- Operational employees must present unimpaired by drugs and with zero blood alcohol content.
- Managers/Commanders or Supervisors/OIC are to monitor the workplace environment to prevent, detect, and control any impairment in employees or contractors.
- Any instance of perceived impairment is to be regarded as an OH&S incident requiring immediate attention. Issues are to be managed in accordance with OH&S issue resolution procedure.
