Drugs Flashcards
1
Q
Grapiprant
A
NSAID (Galliprant)
Blocks the EP4 receptor, and therefore blocks PGE2‐elicited pain and inflammation
Not a COX-2 inhibitor
2
Q
Bedinvetmab
A
Librela
Monoclonal antibody designed to recognise and attach to nerve growth factor (NGF)
3
Q
Midazolam
A
Has an affinity for benzodiazepine receptors which couple to a common chloride channel with GABA
So increases the frequency of chloride channel opening causing membrane hyperpolisation and neuronal inhibition.
Also acts on glycine receptors and produces a muscle relaxing effect
