What are the steps of drug development?

A
  • pre clinical trials (uses cells, tissues and live animals ) test for toxicity
  • clinical trials (low doses initially to healthy patients then increase dosage and test on ill patients) create the optimum dosage ( most effective quantity with minimal sideffects)
  • placebo tests ( blind / double blind trials) test for effectiveness

A
  • reduce antibiotic intake (e.g. on unnecacary illnesses such as viral infections which cant be treated by antibiotics)
  • completing the course of antibiotics to make sure all bacteria is killed
  • reducing the use of antibiotics in agriculture + farms
