One Layer Dressing
. adherent product
. Benzoin is used on minor
skin sores and wounds to
protect the area from
irritation and infection.
. Also used on canker sores
in and around the mouth to
protect them.
. used to help relieve and
soothe minor irritation of the
nose, throat, and airways
when it is mixed with hot
water and the steam is
inhaled
Dermabond what is it & what layer dressing is it used in?
. One Layer Dressing
. Adherent
. Dermabond is one of
the only surgical
glues that is FDA
approved for use on
humans. It comes in
sterile, single-use
applicators and is the
glue of choice for
surgeons closing
incisions after an
operation.
Mastisol; what is it & what layer dressing is it used in?
. One Layer Dressing
. Mastisol is a liquid
medical adhesive
used to ensure the
integrity of dressings,
tapes, and certain
devices over an
extended period of
time
Steri-Strips; what is it & what layer dressing is it used in?
. One Layer Dressing
. Steri-Strips are small pieces
of tape
. Cling to the skin better than
ordinary tape.
. They are usually used to
close superficial rather than
deep incisions.
Ex, absorbable sutures may
be placed to close most of an
incision and then Steri-
Strips used to hold the
superficial layer of skin in
place.
