9
Q

Why did Chuck have to come to you?

A

Kids had teased him most of his life and his parents put tremendous pressure on him.
He had a perfectionist personality and most likely lost weight through eating disorders

What did you tell Chuck when he told you he was trying out for the drum line?

A

When chuck first told me about trying out for the line, I counseled him against it because he was still fragile. He was insistent though so I offered him support

Q

What was your phone call with Chuck about?

A

When Chuck called me at the beginning of Hell Week, he told me that it was very difficult, but wouldn’t elaborate. I could tell he was very upset and frightened. He told me that he would show them he had what it took. I asked him to report to the band director, but he threatened to discontinue our sessions if I told anyone anything

Q

Do you think Chuck went onto the ledge by his own will?

A

I don’t think he would go onto the ledge without being pressured or forced

17
Q

What was Chuck’s intoxication level and do you think it would lessen his fears?

A

Chuck was just over the legal intoxication level at .10. It is possible his intoxication would lessen his fears, but I am unsure of his tolerance level because he was a frequent drinker

18
Q

What do you think led to Chuck’s death?

A

Chucks death was most likely the result of hazing. Even though I have never met him, I believe Chris felt threatened by Chuck because of his popularity and talent
