What is unconscious bias?
forms of prejudice that an individual might hold but might not be unaware of holding.
How is unconscious bias formed?
Influenced by attitudes formed from our experiences, upbringing and environments
Can you name some team-working skills you possess?
- Listening – to other people’s ideas
- Discussing – team members to ask questions and interact
- Respect – treating team members with respect
- Helping – to encourage teamwork
- Sharing – information to create a positive team environment
- Communication – having effective communication skills
- Reflection – identifying strengths and weaknesses of team members and the team itself
What is the Herzberg Theory?
Frederick Herzberg’s theory is a two factor motivational theory based on hygiene and motivational
factors:-
o Workers are encouraged to work harder based on motivational factors such as empowerment,
job enlargement and job enrichment.
o Workers can become de-motivated if hygiene factors are not met such as remuneration,
comfortable working conditions and annual leave entitlement.
What is workplace diversity?
Diversity in the workplace relates to the acceptance and inclusion of employees of all backgrounds.
* Ensuring diversity in the workplace is an important asset of an organisation as it acknowledges the
individual strengths of each employee and the potential they bring.

What are inclusive environments?
a built environment that caters to the diverse needs of all users, ensuring dignified, equal, and intuitive access for everyone
What is meant by the term unconscious bias?
Unconscious bias refers to the associations and assumptions that a person may have about someone
solely because of their race, gender or disability.
What is the Tuckman Theory?
- Bruce Tuckman’s theory focuses on how a team approaches a task
- Originally the theory consisted of 4 separate phases however later on a 5th phase was included
Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, Adjourning
What examples of teamworking have you demonstrated?
I demonstrate clear communication between teams, whether maintaining a clear flow of information at GMW or helping other members address problems.
