What is unconscious bias?
Associates we hold which are deeply ingrained and outside of our conscious awareness or control, influenced by attitudes formed from our experiences

What is inclusive design?
Making spaces that everyone can use and removing barriers that create undue effort and separation.
What is workplace diversity?
The acceptance and inclusion of employees from all backgrounds
Why is diversity in the workplace important?
Acknowledges the individual strengths of each employee and the potential they bring, regardless of their background.
What are the advantages of a diverse team?
A diverse range of talents result in broader skills amongst the team and result in increased productivity
Increased creativity due to different perspectives
Improved cultural awareness can mean the company can operate better in the global market (e.g. if an employee speaks another language)
Adds to positive reputation and potential employees would see the company as treating employees fairly.
Please explain your understanding of inclusion in the work place?
Creating an environment and culture where all employees feel like they belong in the organisation and they are comfortable to voice their opinion and no one feels excluded on the basis of their identity.
What is unconscious bias?
Associations and assumptions about someone that may relate to their race, gender or disability. These judgements are made without conscious awareness and can be a major factor towards lack of workplace diversity.
