- Use cautiously in the elderly.
- Use cautiously in patient with renal disease.
- Confirm patient does not have anuria before administration. Hold for anuria and consult provider.
- Monitor potassium level.
- Assess for hypotension
- Assess for dehydration
o Avoid rapid IV infusion-linked to ototoxicity
