    • Measured in Hertz (Hz)
  • LCD Display
    • No electron beams
    • Refreshes entire screen @ 60Hz, 120Hz, 144Hz, etc
    • Really frame rate

Display Resolution

A
  • Number of pixels on a display
  • Aspect ratio
  • Standard monitor 4:3 = 1600 x 1200 , 2048 x 1536
  • Wide screen monitor 16:10 = 1920 x 1200 , 2560 x 1600
  • HD 16:9 = 1920 x 1080 , 2560 X 1440

Native Resolution

A
  • An LCD display is fixed - #s of pixels doesn’t change
  • A display looks best when the videos settings match a display native resolution. Mismatches cause disruption
  • If changing the display resolution, try using a multiple of the native resolution
  • 2560 x 1600 is the same as 1920 x 1200
