What is eclampsia?

A

Problem seen in heavily lactating female animals. Seen 2-3 weeks after weeping.often accompanied by a diet deficient in calcium may result in hypocalcemia.
Treatment must be initiated after signs of problems.slow I’ve fluids with calcium solution or oral calcium solutions.

A

Seen in small-animal medicine. Increased levels of progesterone after ovulation result in hyperplasia and hypertrophy of the endometrial glands of the uterus.

What is priapism and paraphimosis?

A

Occasionally seen in dogs.
Inappropriate erection-priapism
Paraphimosis- inability of the dog to retract the penis into the preputial sheath
Treatment in acute cases involves sedation, removal of any causative agents, immersing the tissue into a cold hypertonic glucose solution to reduce swelling, and gentle cleaning of the penile tissue.

What is testicular tumors?

A

Cryptorchid dogs and tose with inguinal hernias are at greatest risk for testicular tumors; tumor development is twice as common in testicles retained In the inguinal canal as those within te abdomen.

Feminization occurs in approximately 25%-50% of dogs with serotonin cell tumors
