Cranial
Pertaining to the cranium or head (towards the head)
Caudal
Pertaining to the tail end of the body (towards the tail)
Rostral
Pertaining to the nose end of the body (towards the nose)
Dorsal
Pertaining to he back of a quadruped (towards the back bone)
Ventral
Pertaining to the underside of the quadruped (towards the stomach, away from the back bone)
Medial
Pertaining to the middle or a position closer to the median plane of the body (towards the median plane)
Lateral
Pertaining to the side of the body (away from the median plane)
Peripheral
Pertaining to the outermost part
Central
Pertaining to the more proximal area of the body (opposite of peripheral)
Superficial
Situated near the surface of the body (towards the surface, external)
Deep
Situated away from the surface of the body (towards the centre, internal)

Nearer to the centre of the body (towards the body, point closest to the back bone especially in reference to limbs)
Distal
Further from the centre of the body (away from the body, point furthest away from the back bone especially in reference to limbs)
Oblique
Pertaining to an angle
