Common ER verbs

Meter - to put. Meter is often used with the preposition en to talk about placing an object in something. Ex. Mete la leche en la nevera. (Put the milk in the refrigerator.)
Proteger - to protect
Aprender - to learn. Use the preposition a between aprender and infinitives. Ex. Estoy aprendiendo a tocar el piano.
Creer - to believe
Caber - to fit
Prometer - to promise
Correr - to run

Abrir - to open
Asistir - to attend.  Remember to use a when using asistir in the infinitive and any conjugation. Ex. Yo asisto a yoga. Me gusta asistir a clase.

Stem Changing Verbs

Gustar - likes and dislikes

To express your likes in Spanish, all you have to do is use these two expressions:
me gusta + el/la + [singular noun]
me gustan + los/las + [plural noun]

Me gusta la musica
Me gustan las clases de espanol
A ellos les gusta ir a la playa - they like to go to the beach
A el le gustan las frutas - He likes fruit

You can also use the phrase a mí for emphasis, but make sure to never use the subject pronoun yo when using the verb gustar.

A mí me gusta el mar.
I like the sea.

No me gusta el teatro.
I don’t like the theater.
A mis padres les gusta el mar - my parents like the sea
A los ninos no les gusta la arena - the kids don’t like the sand
