  1. 50% are idiopathic, possibly some genetic element with the TTN gene
  2. Autoimmune e.g. SLE, RA, PAN
  3. Infective - coxsackie B, Chaga’s disease, parvovirus b19
  4. Stress e.g. Takotsubo’s or peripartum
  5. Toxins e.g. alcohol and cocaine, herceptin, doxorubicin
  6. Beri Beri
  7. Hyperthyroid
  8. Tachycardia
  9. Phaeochromocytoma
