What are the causes of Dilated Cardiomyopathy? (9)

- 50% are idiopathic, possibly some genetic element with the TTN gene
- Autoimmune e.g. SLE, RA, PAN
- Infective - coxsackie B, Chaga’s disease, parvovirus b19
- Stress e.g. Takotsubo’s or peripartum
- Toxins e.g. alcohol and cocaine, herceptin, doxorubicin
- Beri Beri
- Hyperthyroid
- Tachycardia
- Phaeochromocytoma
