DIGESTIVE SYSTEM B6 Flashcards
What is the purpose of the STOMACHS HYDROCHLORIDE ACID production?
Cells in the lining of the stomach secrete a strong acid and perfume anzes that are responsible for the breakdown process. When the context of the stomach are sufficiently processed, they are released into the small intestine through the pyloric sphincter
What is the role of the BILE DUCT?
The bile duct is hoe the bile is transferred into the intestines and duodenum from the gall bladder. The bile included rich enzymes used to break down food.
What is the name of the MUSCLE surrounding the exit at the ANUS?
The Angus is the last part of the digestive tract. It is a 2 inch long canal consisting of the pelvic floor muscles and the two anal sphincters. The anus is surrounded by sphincter muscles that are important in allowing control of stool. The PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLE creates an angle between the recriminations and the abuse that stops stool from coming out when it is not supposed to.
ALIMENTARY CANAL
Food enters and solid water exits
Salivary glands
Saliva has carbohydrate to break down carbohydrates down
Oral cavity
Chews food and saliva has carbohydrase in order to geeks down carbs into sugar
Epiglottis
Seal of wind pipe during eating so that food is not inhaled
Peristalsis
Movement of food through digestive tract by muscle squeezing food
Oesophagus
The tube that allows food to go through to the stomach
Pyloric sphincter
Contents of churned food from stomach or small intestine
Stomach
Protease and hydrochloric scid is released. Protease works best in an acidic environment
Hydrochloric acid
Ph2, used to kill of bacteria and ensure enzymes to work in
Duodenum
Part of the small intestine where viral organs join
Liver
Where bile is made
Pancreas
Release protease, carbohydrase and lipase into small intestine
