Q

Short term effects

A
  • at rest blood goes to the internal organs
  • during exercise blood flow is largely diverted to the muscles
  • at rest the gut receives 25-30% of blood flow, but during exercise get less than 5%~ this is why you should eat 2 hrs before exercise
  • you should eat carbs ad they r quick to digest
  • since digestion effectively stops during exercise any food eat before will likely be undigested ; can cause uncomfort leading to poorer performance levels
