Q

What factors affect the rate of diffusion?

Explain

A
  • Temperature - particles will have more kinetic energy thus will move around faster
  • Concentration gradient - the bigger the difference, the faster rate of diffusion
  • Surface area of membrane - larger the surface area, the faster the rate of diffusion - more particles will move throught the membrane at the same time
