Why is it considered Good?
They can meet different Christians with different background stories
They may go for a specific purpose e.g. healing
Offers the chance for spiritual growth because they have the time to pray and meditate
Give getaway time from very busy everyday lives
Return from pilgrimage fresh and ready to cope with new found encouragement
Why is it considered Bad?
Very costly and money could be put to better use
Not necessary as spiritual development can be gained through regular attendance at the church and through daily Bible reading/ prayer
Reading about Jesus and about the great Christians gives the same insights
Any spiritual ‘high’ may be temporary and will wear off when everyday life kicks in
