What is change?
Change is to transform or become different.
What is stress?
Stress is a reaction caused by ongoing, increasing or new pressures or demands.
How does it feel to be stressed?
- Constant nervous tension or anxiety.
- Too much to do.
- Too many problems to solve.
- Too many things happening over which you think you have no control.
What is a stressor?
Things that cause stress or pressure.
What is anxiety?
Worry, nervousness or unease.
What does quality of life mean?
Your level of personal wellbeing and satisfaction with your life, what the conditions of your life are.
Name 4 types of stressors.
Physical stressors
Emotional stressors
Social stressors
Environmental stressors
What are physical stressors?
Lack of physical exercise, physical or sexual abuse, illness, injury, hunger, accidents, over tiredness and physical disabilities.
What are emotional stressors?
Your feelings, thoughts, reactions to life crises and change, your personality, your feelings.
What type of feelings cause stress?
Worry, nervousness, anxiety, jealousy, anger, disappointment, rejection, hate, fear and uncertainty.
What does your personality consist of?
Qualities, actions, behaviour and attitude that make a person unique.
What are social stressors?
Social stressors refer to negative aspects of your relationships with others, from your family and friends to society in general.
What are environmental stressors?
Everything around you, where you live and all physical factors that might affect you like pollution, natural disasters, noise, etc.
What are signs of stress?
Measurable indications of stress like constant feelings of worry and anxiety.
List five symptoms of stress.
headaches, stomach aches, feeling tense, being unable to sleep, constant thirst and feelings of unease.
What is positive stress?
Stress that is good for you and can motivate you, encourage you and make you push yourself.
What is another name for positive stress?
Eustress.
What is another word for negative stress?
Distress.
