Main class of female sex hormones.
ESTROGENS
The beginning of puberty.
Involves hormonal changes in the adrenal glands.
Occur from about 6-9 years in girls and a year later in boys.
ADRENARCHE
Follows adrenarche by about 2 years.
Most people think of it as the puberty stage.
Involves maturation of sexual characteristics and secondary sexual characteristics.
GONADARCHE
Refers to human development that is meant to involve all parts of a person.

Refers to the growth of person’s consciousness and beliefs including the values and virtues that guide and put meaning into a person’s life.
Spiritual and moral development
Deals with the construction of thought processes, including remembering, problem solving, decision making, etc.
