What is the swash of a wave?
This is the forward part of the wave that hits the land first.
What is the backwash of a wave?
This is the water that gets pulled back with force bringing other materials.
What is a destructive wave?
This is the strongest wave which causes damage an is very high and powerful. This has strong backwash and little swash.
What is a constructive wave?
A constructive wave is the opposite to a destructive wave with weak backwash and strong swash.
What is fetch?
The fetch is the stretch of open water in the direction of which the wind blows.
How do waves form?
Waves form by wind blowing over the sea generally.
What is the crest?
The crest is the very top of the wave.
