Can you name some environmental characteristics?
The nature reserve includes sand dunes and heath.There is a unique ecosystem.It is internationally important and conservation area managed by the National trust.
What species and habitats live there?
Marram grass grows on the sand to hold the dunes together which allows more vegetation. Butterflies, insects, small birds and small animals live round low shrubs and small trees.
Why do the species inhabit there?
Species inhabit there because it is the richest 1000 hectares for wildflowers in the country. The area supports many rare birds such as the nightjar and the sand lizard is one of the native species.
What are some strategies for conserving the environment?
Vulnerable areas have been fenced off, Bird watching is in place with guiders, no driving on the beach, je skis are not a lot to be launched from the beach, and dogs aren’t allowed on the beach in the summer etc.
How sustainable are the strategies?
The strategies are very sustainable and have had a massive impact
