What causes coastal flooding?
Dry low lying land is flooded by sea-water.
What is the impact on the economy?
Rising sea levels could put and end to tourism in the industry. As the coral reefs are affected by the warming temperature diving tourism will also be affected. The fishing industry with slowly disappear.
What is the social impact?
People will be forced to leave their homes and become refugees. The traditional way of life will be lost. It will flood many peoples homes.
What is the political impact?
People aren’t going to want to live there due to flooding issues which will loose them money. The country could disappear under water. It puts the government under a lot of stress to solve this problem.
What are the environmental impacts?
The environment gets impacted hugely due to repair cost and also a bad reputation. Fish numbers will be lost, coral reefs will die and the sea levels will rise.
